Tolteq iDM – intelligent directional module

Tolteq directional tools iDM part, the MWD toolstring is a complex electromechanical assembly.

The primary role of the directional tool is to detect the wellbore position.

Measurements are relayed to the surface in real-time through a pulser.

Most directional tools have an on-board memory storage that allows for data retrieval.

Directional Tools

The Tolteq iDM MWD has two main components:

1. Intelligent Directional Electronics (iDE) has 2 boards

a) iMCU – Intelligent Master Controller Unit
• Encodes data to be pulsed to the surface

b) iPS – Intelligent Power Supply
• Regulates power to the iDM

2. SensorPack

a) 3 magnetometers (measures magnetic field)

b) 3 accelerometers (measures gravity field)

c) Temperature
